It may related to an earlier 10.4 bug that I indicated below, about using the Migration Assistant between PowerPC and Intel Macs. 10.6.2 resolves this issue according to Apple. WARNING: If you use Guest accounts in Snow Leopard, a bug has been that wipes the guest account contents entirely. This page was spun off of Mac OS X speed FAQ. My freelance availability calendar is also available. And the best part about Painter’s Picker is that as a plug-in that adds an additional panel to the Colors palette, it’s available systemwide.Download my résumé as a Word compressed zip file and Adobe Acrobat. You get more advanced controls for choosing brightness, saturation, and hue angles the ability to quickly find complementary or analogous colors RGB, CMYK, and Web-safe spaces and much, much, more. Mac OS X’s built-in Colors chooser is quite good, but Painter’s Picker provides more advanced color-picking functionality that will be welcome by those in the creative fields. At $89, Intaglio isn’t as cheap as some Gems, but compared to Illustrator, it’s a bargain. The ability to convert PDF, QuickDraw, and ClarisDraw files, and to import from and export to Pages and Keynote, is also sure to please. It also takes advantage of a number of OS X features via a Spotlight importer, Automator actions, and support for AppleScript, Apple Type Services, and Quartz graphics tools. While not as feature-rich as the “big boys,” Intaglio is surprisingly powerful, with all the drawing and graphics tools many people are likely to need. If you’ve been looking for a Mac OS X replacement for ClarisDraw, SuperPaint, or MacDraw-and don’t want to spend the big bucks for Adobe Illustrator-you’ll love Intaglio.
